A journal is only as reliable as the people who run it. ISPHE trains editors-in-chief, section editors, managing editors and editorial assistants in the daily work of running a scholarly journal, from screening a new submission to sending an accepted paper to production.
What the training covers
- Screening manuscripts for scope and basic quality
- Finding, inviting and managing peer reviewers
- Making editorial decisions and explaining them to authors
- Handling appeals, complaints and suspected misconduct
- Keeping to a publication schedule
- Working with authors through revisions
How it runs
Training can take place as a workshop at your institution, as online sessions, or as mentoring for a new editorial team over several months. We adjust the content to the journal's stage and the team's experience.
Tell us about your editorial team and what you want them to learn.
