A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a permanent link to an article. If the journal website moves, the DOI still takes readers to the paper. Citation databases and indexing services use DOIs to track citations, and many of them expect every article to have one.
How we help
- Explaining how DOIs work and what they cost
- Joining Crossref directly or through a sponsoring organisation
- Registering DOIs for new articles and for back issues
- Adding ORCID iDs for authors and ROR IDs for institutions
- Setting up automatic DOI deposit from Open Journal Systems
Tell us about your journal and we will explain the steps and costs for getting DOIs.
